Switchboard Upgrades
It is always a great idea to replace old porcelain fuses with residual current devices and miniature circuit breakers for safety reasons. An RCD is designed to protect against the risk of electrical shock and fire caused by earth faults. For example, a faulty appliance overheats causing electric current to flow to earth. Safety aside, the recess switch boards with doors, look a lot nicer and are a lot easier to reset if needed.
